For years the building hummed along quietly. A photo studio downstairs, a digital agency upstairs, and a big open floor in between that filled up some days and sat half-empty on others. It was too good a room to leave to the dust covers.
So we opened it up. Gravitate Space is a long-term coworking room in Tweed Heads South, desks for makers, sole traders, e-commerce owners and small teams who want a proper base, not a café table and a flat white.
Why Tweed, of all places?
Because of where it sits. The Tweed is the seam between two very different creative worlds, the Gold Coast to the north and Byron Bay to the south. Ten minutes from Gold Coast Airport, five from the beach, an hour from Brisbane. Close enough to get clients and crews from both sides; quiet enough to actually get work done.
Burleigh is busy and tourist-heavy. Byron is precious and expensive. Tweed is industrial, accessible and a little under the radar, which, if you're trying to build something, is exactly what you want.
A coworking space, not a hot-desk lounge
There's a difference between a room you pass through and a room you belong to. We built for the second kind. You get your own desk, 24/7 access, fast internet, a real kitchen, free parking, and a small crew of people who care about their craft sitting around you.
Because a working studio and a working agency share the building, the odd job lands here too, a shoot, some design, a content gig the agency can't take. When it does, we share it around the desks. It's a genuine bonus, never a promise, but it's the kind of thing you only get when you're in the room.
Who it's for
Photographers and videographers who want the cyclorama studio downstairs at member rates. Designers and developers who've outgrown the home office. E-commerce operators who need somewhere to shoot product and run the business under one roof. Anyone between the Gold Coast and Byron who wants a serious, calm place to work.
If that's you, the door's open, come have a look.
